Instructor Dwayne Jones, RN

I have been a nurse since 1998. I graduated from the United States Army Combat Medic course then the Army Practical Nursing course at the United States Army Health Sciences Center in San Antonio, Texas. Later, I finished my degree and became a Professional Registered Nurse. In the field of nursing I have served in several different areas: Army trauma nurse; OR nurse / assistant in Detroit, Michigan; critical care nurse in different areas, including ICU, CCU, NICU, ER, and Endoscopy in El Paso, TX. As a contracted OR assistant manager and recovery nurse, in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico; I sharpened my critical thinking skills. Moving into long term care, I took over a position as an Assistant Director of Nursing and Medicare Manager in a 150-bed nursing center.

After yearning to bring change into long term care I became a Director of Nursing in both privately and publicly owned nursing and rehabilitation centers in Texas. I accomplished this while continuing to working to maintain my critical care skills. Currently, I also serve as a board advisor to International Business College's Certified Nursing Aide Curriculum committee.
